The client had inherited a decked area past its sell-by date and had started to rot away, and it was also hiding 3 raised drains that were unexpected but dealt with. The brief was to have a much more usable space for more of the year; the area gets morning and daytime sun, but in the late afternoon is in the shade, and during the winter months not much sun at all, so decking unless composite would always struggle. The patio area had to be dropped to match the path down the side of the conservatory and a couple of steps built to accommodate the extra drop.

The tricky part was following the two curved walls that retained the grassed garden and a raised bed.
